Corante Feedfest

[Archived in Entry]

http://apperceive.blogs.com/apperceive [Apperceptions] It's official: I just posted my first contribution to Corante's Feedfest weblog.  I am helping out and moderating their Videoblogging Videocasts with Alex Williams, who has been a super dude and opened some interesting doors for me.  Thanks Alex!

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[You Subscribe: RSS] You Software and Feedfest: Feedfest is a six-month online multimedia series focused on theincreasingly dynamic and powerful content syndication applications thatare allowing people to consume what they want, when they want, wherethey want and how they want. And that's what You Subscribe: RSS is all about. We've been working with Alex Williams at the Corante Eventlab and we're looking forward to being part of the action.

[Marqui's world] Thrust into 2005’s Communications World: This morning’s frenzy is about getting ready to record a podcast on Paying Bloggers to Blog for Feedfest 2005. Tara and I have made sure Stephen is ready with FlashMeeting loaded on his laptop, ready to participate with talking points, when I get an urgent message from Alex at Corante - the meeting host.

Weblogsky - industrial-strength weblog[Weblogsky - industrial-strength weblog] Marqui marketing: With regard to the blogosphere program, Marqui will participate in Alex's FeedFest 2005 by putting Marc Canter and David Weinberger (contributor to Corante) on with opposing viewpoints on paying bloggers to blog. We'll try to get Rowland Hanson to moderate the discussion.Marqui is also talking about multimedia approaches and what happens when blogs are no longer just text. (I suppose we should all take singing lessons.) I do think they understand, though, that it's the value in their product, and not these marketing experiences, that will determine their success or failure.

Corante.comhttp://www.corante.com [Corante.com] Corante Events: Feedfest: Corante: Feedfest 2005, originally called RSS Winterfest, will provide its audience a compelling series of multimedia online events that will bring together some of the most insightful observers and analysts, the most innovative entrepreneurs, and several cutting edge companies to discuss the implications of the changing landscape of content delivery and consumption and how it will affect consumers and companies alike.

Corante.comhttp://www.corante.com [Corante.com] Corante Blog: Alex, Phil and Matt present the first in what they say will be a weekly offering: a podcast on podcasting that'll discuss prevailing topics of the day. Up for discussion in their inaugural show: music licensing issues, a review of BlogMatrix's Spark! product, and discussion of the view Major League Baseball and other professional sports leagues may take of indepedently produced play-by-play podcasts.

Corante.comhttp://www.corante.com [Corante.com] Attention.xml and the evolution of the web: Corante > Corante ...: Feedfest 2005, originally called RSS Winterfest, will provide its audience a compelling series of multimedia online events that will bring together some of the most insightful observers and analysts, the most innovative entrepreneurs, and several cutting edge companies to discuss the implications of the changing landscape of content delivery and consumption and how it will affect consumers and companies alike.

Corante.comhttp://www.corante.com [Corante.com] Raving Lunacy on Marqui's Sponsorship of Feedfest: Corante > Get ...: I have written dozens of pieces against it, without any direct support for doing so, and will continue to do so. Marqui's sponsorship of a debate about their own dubious marketing approach, and then their seemingly calculated attack on us for participating in something that they wanted to take place is just more sensationalist mumbo-jumbo, and an attempt to push the discussion away from the real issue. Once again, the idea that I have lost credibility is off target: the implication is that we should prohibit Marqui from participation in normal media sponsorship, just because we disagree with them about other activities they are involved in. Mostg importantly, the point that is being lost is that we debated "Marquiism" -- the marketing approach involved -- not Marqui, the company, it's motivations, products, or plans.
