Dawn of the Dead 2004

„I don't regard their unflinching slowness in the original as a flaw--it fit perfectly with the film's mallrat satire. But the speed of the new generation of zombies beautifully fit the speed of digital video, and the flicker effect worked nicely with what I regard to be the film's updated satire.“

Some slightly related:
„The violence in Deadbeat at Dawn is very strong especially during the film's last fight, when Goose finally gets face to face with the gang members who killed his girl and caused this mayhem. People are sliced with blades, hurt with throwing stars, blasted by guns with ultra gory wounds, beaten to shapeless, killed by ripping off a throat/larynx - a scene that is perhaps even more graphic and off putting than the finale in Japanese Sonny Chiba's legendary Street Fighter (1974), a film which has also a similar throat ripping scene. Deadbeat at Dawn is so over-the-top violent and gory piece of independent cinema, I think this will and alienates many fans of marginal cinema, too, as I know many so called film fanatics specialized in B films and underground, that simply HATE Deadbeat at Dawn and speak very badly about it!“http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmid.527548/filmtitle.deadbeat+at+dawn+%5bspecial+edition%5d/rtype.5/rtypedisplay.viewer+comments/.../ reviews.htm - Cached
„The are factually inaccurate, as in the ones that say stupid things like "there is a virus that will make your harddrive jump out of the PC box and eat your nuts" or "the Neiman Marcus cookie recipe costs $500.00" or "this e-mail is being tracked by Disney and they will give you a million dollars." They tend to try to perpetuate themselves (wow, just LIKE a virus), by inserting that ridiculous clue line at the end "pass this on to everyone you know, have ever known or your relatives know." And finally, they are just plain annoying (I know, I know, I've been publishing some of them right here... So, I'm a hypocrite, sue me!)The last thing that REALLY bugs me is the semi-quote at the end,'Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father."' OK, where in tarnation does it say that?“http://www.greeblie.com/jimspot/archive/ 2002_08.html#004025 - Cached
