If 20th Century Fox have any concept of doing this franchise justice, they should head over to Red Bank NJ, sit outside Kevin Smith's house and throw money at him until he agrees to either write and/or direct the Daredevil sequel and/or Elektra spin-off (a concept that was almost as secret as the end of BuffyTVS aside from the challenged posed by the end of DareDevil). Time has shown that with respectful film-makers making comic franchises (cf Singer's X-Men and Raimi's Spiderman) can do serious business, making US$170m and $400m respectively (Daredevil cleared US$45m in it's first weekend, X-Men $50m & Spiderman US$114m). I haven't seen DareDevil(release 20th March here) yet, and from the mixed response it's recieved, I'm not expecting Spiderman/X-Men standard, yet with the right crew behind a sequel (considering'Bennifer' and Smith are bosom buddies, Affleck's influence shouldn't be under-rated), a properly crewed DD/Elektra franchise could "rock your f**cking socks off" (to quote Tenacious D).“http://archives.oliyoung.com/ 2003_02.html#000261 - Cached
