I made an iMovie!

[Archived in Camcorder Com, Camcorder Digital, Entry]

I made an iMovie! Judi on 2003/07/07:

„Since I don't own a digital camcorder, I never used iMovie before. I've been doing a bit of print and web work for a local company, and I volunteered to help the director prepare a gift for friends celebrating their 25th anniversary this weekend. She had 68 snapshots that she wanted put together into a slide show.“

iMovie Visual QuickStart Guide: June 2003 Archives

„MacFixIt reports that Final Cut Express cannot import iMovie 3.0.3 files, saying that the project file isn't an iMovie 3 file. No doubt this will be fixed in a future update. But if you're creating movies in iMovie 3.0.3 and then handing them off to someone using FCE (or switching between the two programs yourself), for the time being you can open the preview QuickTime movie file that exists in your project folder from within Final Cut Express.“

MediaMall: Now Media: Dr. Mac: Apple's Awesome iMovie Software Now FREE!

„With iMovie, you can import video from a digital video camcorder directly into any FireWire-enabled Mac (i.e. iMac DV, iMac DV Special Edition, Power Mac G4 and the newest PowerBooks). Once the video is imported to your hard disk, you can rearrange clips and add special effects like cross-dissolves and scrolling titles.“

MediaMall: Now Media: Dr. Mac: Every Mac a Digital Movie Studio

„iMovie 2 is Apple's free software for making movies on your Mac. FireWire is an interface (and port) on your Mac that lets you connect a digital camcorder and import video quickly and easily. Both come with every Mac sold (except the $799 iMac, which doesn't have FireWire).“

Late for the Train: Editing Digital Video on the Cheap - March 2002

„I did my editing in iMovie in one day, dragging files around, shortening them, creating transitions, and trying to get the images to match the rhythm of the soundtrack. During that time, I used GraphicConverter and Photoshop to create logo-title cards, manipulate still photos, and generate other JPEG and PICT files. On the Web, I also found an old-style "Indian head" TV test pattern, and a little stock clip of applause for the end of the video.“

Small Business and the Internet - Ann Arbor Area Business to Business Magazine

„Think about it - if you have a wad of digital pictures you want to share with Gramma, you can print them out and send them via snail mail (expensive and slow), you can put them on the Web (cheap and fast, but what if Gramma isn't online?) or you can burn them onto a DVD and send them to her (cheap and slow). OK, you might have to buy Gramma a DVD player, but these can now be had for less than $75, so you now have her next birthday covered. And for movies, there is really no better way to share them effectively.“

Archived Computer TA & Media Specialist Meeting Minutes

„When using a digital camera to take Web pictures, "standard" quality and 640 x 480 dpi resolution is more than adequate for good results. This will keep the file sizes smaller, which will allow Web pages to open faster. Also use only alpha-numeric characters (no commas, slashes, spaces, etc.) when naming photo and other image files for use on a Web site.“
