„If you frequent any of the user Forums of major 3rd party video and 3d software developers you will find that most users are less than happy with the support that their platform is receiving from the software developers. In fairness to most developers, with their code base being developed on Windows, it probably takes most of their team just to maintain feature parity and fix bugs on the Mac. I hope I’m wrong, but it’s doubtful that the Macintosh programming team on most big software projects actually contribute major features to the application, not to in any way take away from the work of the Mac developers.“

After some futzing with switching WPA to WEP on the base station, then ultimately turing off encryption all together, I realized that the problem was that the SMC card was not updating its settings when I clicked the "Apply" button.
