[Archived in Entry]

[Learning Community Group's Research Network :: Main Page] Marketers will monitor who buys the PSP and devices like it. If the universe of owners stays relatively confined to young male fans of video games, the PSP's appeal to many advertisers will probably be limited...

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[Annotatedtimes.blogrunner.com] blogrunner: Latest Promotion Vehicle Is a Hand-Held Media Device ...: So the advertising column in The New York Times this morning was all about a new ad opportunity being offered by Sony on its PlayStation Portable (PSP). The gambit is that people—well, actually young males is pretty much all this crowd cares about—can download short PSP-ready films at Heavy.com, and advertisers can support them “by paying for quick commercials before or after the downloads, or by providing content in the form of branded entertainment.” But what interested us most is the campaign from the effort’s purported first advertiser, Unilever’s Axe deodorant (well, it seems first advertiser other than Sony, which is running short films on Heavy to the tune of Franz Ferdinand’s “Take Me Out”). Axe is paying two guys, Evan and Gareth—yes, Gareth not Garth—to cruise around the country like “seduction crash test dummies” and pick up women.

Gadgetmadness.com[Gadgetmadness.com] GadgetMadness: TIME.com's "Gadget of the Week" is Research in Motion's new BlackBerry 7100t handheld from T-Mobile. The reviewer finds this sleek and sexy phone/email/pda device to be consumer friendly enough to satisfy the average user and hardcore enough to satisfy the business consumer as well. The 7100t is narrower than the average BlackBerry and looks and acts more like a cellphone, but lacks camera, MP3 player, and a memory card slot.
