[Apperceptions] Made me think about what one might find at yard sales. I used to go to them a lot a few years back, but dropped out of the habit. I like hunting for old hand tools. I'm interested in traditional Japanese woodworking techniques and tools and sometimes you find a little gem or something that you can make into something special. Same now for digital art. Lot's of old magazines, postcards, artwork etc. Some very kitch.
Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.
[Toolshed.com] /\ndy's Weblog: Dave Gilmour's contributions to the sound and style of Pink Floyd are really evident in this concert.Without any the bells, whistles, feedback, or tape loops, the sound is distinctly Floydian.Armed with little save his acoustic guitar, a cellist and choir, Gilmour manages to shine on quite nicely. When keyboardist Rick Wright joins him to sing a song from his last solo album, the combinationreveals a lot about the team work that created Pink Floyd. It also underscores Wright's near-absence from The Wallalbum, and gives a hint of the melodies and chord progressions that could have been.
[Deborahotoole.tripod.com] Blog Archives (February 2003): I was reading Maura McHugh’s Babbleogue this morning, and she reported that some people are already selling bits of the Columbia space shuttle on "e-Bay." If this is the case, I am amazed (but not surprised, sadly) by the greed of people, taking away evidence from the debris fields just to make a quick buck. Greed being the foremost description I can think of, and complete contempt for others being the other sobriquet.
