New toy: automated driver stalking for linux device drivers

[Archived in Entry]

[stillhq.com - Chocolate fudge self saucing pudding, and other posts] So, it turns out I care about the ov511 driver for Linux. I've been suffering from what I suspect is bit rot in the driver for the last couple of hours, so I thought that perhaps I should stalk the driver and see what has changed over time and if perhaps some recent change is punishing me.

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[David-web.co.uk] David-Web :: Blog » Linux: Yes there are other Free operating systems which would run on the machine, but they don’t support the environmental monitoring features either. In desperation I sent a message to the sparclinux and debian-sparc lists asking if anyone would care to code the support into the 2.6 kernel in exchange for $100. After some discussion it became apparent that the problem was not a lack of motivation for someone to write the driver: a developer simply needed access to a machine or someone who would test patches.

[Planet.linux.org.au] Planet Linux Australia: The other cool news, in relation to the N-Duro races, I had a look at thewebsite and discovered the 24 Hour race is actually on in February, on the 4thand 5th next year. I will be over at linux.conf.au 2006 next year fromJan 23rd to Jan 28th, so I will hang around for a week or two in New Zealandand will be able to compete in the N-Duro 24 Hour on some of the incrediblycool tracks there. Lets just hope I can convince a few friends to do the racein a team too, should be a hoot to get an Australian team over there forit.
