Stupid Digital Camera Trick

[Archived in Camcorder Digital, Entry]

Stupid Digital Camera Trick Mark on 2004/01/11:

„The sensor in a digital camera, webcam, or camcorder can detect infrared light. So, if you take a picture of a remote control with a button pushed, you'll see the LEDs light up.“

Belkin Digital Camera Link for iPod

„I’m looking forward to reading a review of the Digital Camera Link, notably to understand what’s in it that is not already in the transfer protocol and the iPod software. The feeling I already had with the BMR and that this new device reinforces, is that the iPod software already contains what’s required to talk to a camera, and that what’s needed is a USB-to-dock cable. If that’s true, $90 for a cable is way too expensive.“

Mena does the cork trick at SXSW

„It's a trick I learned from a teenager in Belgium. Basically, you take two corks, hold them vertically with your thumbs, grab the ends of the cork in the other hand with your forefinger and thumb with both hands and remove the corks. (impossible to explain without a demo or photos.) It's much hard than it looks and also very difficult by the time you have two corks.“

Review: Canon EOS D60 digital camera

„For more than two years, my digital camera of choice was an Olympus C-2500L, as reviewed here. The 2500L's still a good piece of gear, and it's more than adequate for most of the photography I have to do for this site. But the need for more features, and the, um, totally defensible desire for a funkier gadget, forced me to upgrade.“

[Personal experience with Sony DSC-V1 5mp camera] - HowardForums

„I decided to see what cameras the bestbuy had in this town. I decided to get a Sony DSC-V1 since so many people were saying how much of a contender it was. Well after spending a couple days playing with the Sony, all I can say is that it does not have as many shooting functions as the Canon G5 and the menus/ergonomics don't feel as good as the Canon G5.“

Bicycle Maintenance Guide - Computers and GPS

„Reed sensors work with a small magnet clamped to a spoke. They are more sensitive to vibration and can drain the battery when the bike happens to be parked with the magnet next to the sensor. Sensor rings are more precise but require a longer cable all the way down the fork.“
