Self-Imposed Socialization

„The establishments at my neck of the woods here are not particularly comfortable for the lone individual- few places are informal enough to just slip in and go more or less unnoticed. So, most of my'social time' is spent not really being social- in movie theaters, stores or restaurants. Bars here don't work unless you have an entourage- or a shiny,'clubbing outfit.' Looking back each Monday, it seems as though I spend a disproportionate amount of time in my apartment- either on the Internet (mostly fussing with xequa), or watching my stack of NetFlix DVDs.“

E-paper moves closer to the market

„(Utilities also have a certain number of credits assigned to them; if they need more they buy them, but if they retire an old plant or install more environmentally-friendly equipment, they can sell the credits.) But if you buy the credit and retire it, that's one less ton of SO2 that can go into the atmosphere.“
